Essay

Object of research: introduction of the new forms in genetic resources, breeding of orchard crops, study of economy-biological features under conditions of a southern part of East of Ukraine and scientific bases of collection formation and improvement of breeding methods. Purpose: collection formation of the non-traditional fruit and ornamental crops on the basis of expansion and study gene-pool, and improvement of breeding methods. Methods: scientific, field, laboratory, genetic and statistical. Novelty: the important problem of development of scientific bases of the non-traditional fruit and ornamental crops collection theoretically generalized and decided; the collection from 316 species, subspecies, varieties and hybrids, including 730 cultivars and promising selects of 61 genera 14 families, which has importance for breeding and agriculture has been created; for the first time in a southern part of East of Ukraine 156 new species and subspecies level taxa of 41 genera introduced and investigated; nothogeneric hybrid of Japanese Quince with pear xPyromeles has been created; 3 new intergeneric hybrids: xCydolus rudenkoana, xPyralus kursakovii, xSorbaronia kovalevii have been described; the biological and morphological of features introduced cultivars and hybrids have been investigated; the classification of fruit plants has been advanced; opportunity of expansion of assortment both fruit and ornamental crops by expense of species of Actinidiaceae, Adoxaceae, Annonaceae, Berberidaceae, Betulaceae, Сaprifoliaceae, Cornaceae, Ebenaceae, Elaeagnaceae, Grossulariaceae, Moraceae, Rhamnaceae, Rosaceae, and Schisandraceae has been proved; the biochemical structure of fruits and level of variability of the contents of dry substances, sugars, organic acids, an ascorbic acid of 87 species determined; the breeding methods of Japanese Quince, sea buckthorn, hawthorn are advanced and first domestic cultivars of these cultures have been created. Results: the metods of formation, study and preservation of genetic resources traditional fruit crops and ornamental wood plant has been developed; the collection have been extended and genetic variety have been generated; samples with valuable economic attributes have been selected; the new cultivars of fruit crops have been created. Application of the achievements of science: the authors certificates on plant cultivars of hawthorn Zbigniew, Ljudmyl, Shamil, cornelian-cherry Bylda, sea buckthorn Solodka Zhinka, Japanese Quince Kalif, Nikolaj, Nina, Nika have been хеномелеса Калиф, Николай, Нина, Ника are took out. The new cultivars are passed for expansion gene-pool and use in the further breeding in the M.M.Hryshko National Botanical Garden, O.V.Fomin Botanical Garden of the Taras Shevchenko Kiev National University, Nikita Botanical Garden - National Scientific Centre, Ivan Franko Lviv Botanical Garden, National Dendrological Park "Sofiivka". The results of researches are introduced in scientific production firm "Bioflora", farmer farm "Chaika Plus". Fields of application: scientific establishments of the National Academy Sciences of Ukraine and National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, agricultural enterprises of all patterns of ownership agrarian-industrial complex of Ukraine.
