Essay

The thesis is devoted hygienic investigations and scientific substantiation of combined methods of drinking water disinfection. The necessity of effective methods of drinking water disinfection in the centralized water supply systems in some Ukrainian cities has been proved. Mechanisms of reactions at the combined action of chlorine dioxide and chlorine has been investigated as well as the combined step-by-step disinfection of drinking water with the substances mentioned. The efficacy of thrihalomethanes removal with technologies used in the water-cleaning equipment and at manufacturing of the bottled waters has been investigated. The peculiarities of reductive-oxidative processes course on the surface of activated carbonate at chlorine anion adsorption from water has been revealed. Hygienic estimation of the combined use of membrane and ozone-sorbtion methods use for underground water condition has been given. The key role of radical mechanisms in the processes of water disinfection and oxidation has been found.
