The dissertation investigates the legal bases of formation the democratic political system in Ukraine from positions of the general scientific legal analysis of the concept of democratic political system, as it is interpreted in a modern science of the theory of the state and law, and also norms of the national legislation as the factor of maintenance of democratization processes of political system in Ukraine. The author gives the characteristic of the basic theoretical-and-methodological approaches in research of political systems, analyzes interrelation of processes of legal and political development of Ukraine, which include the rise of constitutionalism, improvement of the legislation system, increase of a level of maintenance of the basic principles of democracy and the state of law, development of effective party system, strengthening of parliament, and formation in Ukraine the political system of a democratic type. The special attention is given to the problems of legal maintenance of interaction of the state and civil society as basic elements of political system of Ukraine, and the questions of working out of reliable mechanisms of prevention of the most dangerous phenomena in legal and political life of a society, which slow down modern democratization processes. The author gives the comparative analysis of democratic political systems in aspect of comparison of development of legal institutes in Ukraine and others democratic, including transitive, political systems. Among these institutes the author makes the special stress on institutes of the direct democracy, functioning of representation bodies of authority and legal guarantees of political opposition.
