Essay

The object is the process of the future engineers' culturological training in technical universities; the aim is substantiation of theoretical and methodological fundamentals of the future engineers' culturological training and elaboration of mechanisms providing the students' professional, general cultural, spiritual and moral development as an integral process; methods - theoretical, empirical, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty - for the first time the concept of the technical universities students' culturological training is grounded; the essence of the concept the personality's "basic culture" as an integrity of components that reflects the humanity's material and spiritual culture is revealed as well as the features of the culturological approach to the technical university students' training in modern sociocultural conditions. The constituents of the scientific and methodical system of culturological training are characterized: motivational and objective, cognitive and processing. The organizational and methodical conditions of stimulating students to cultural self-education are revealed: creation of culture-oriented environment in a higher school and the teacher's readiness to provide the students' culturological training; the technologies that ensure the technical students' culturological training have been further developed. The essence of the modern higher technical education humanization is specified. The criteria base of determining the quality of the future engineer's training on culturological principles has been elaborated; as a result the technological complex of the integral culturological training has been developed; the main ideаs of the research are included in the monography, materials of lectures and practical classes in teaching cross-cultural communication, they have become the basis for manuals "A Glimpse of the World Culture" and "Cross-Cultural Communication" for teaching English in technical universities; field - pedagogy
