Essay

Dissertation is a complex philosophical and religious research nature, genesis, functions and structure-formal expressions of sacred symbolism as the phenomenon of Christian communication. Analyzed methodological paradigm of sacred symbolism, which included cultural, linguistic, phenomenological, hermeneutic, semiotic and comparative methods of reveal the communicative and pragmatic aspects of semantic potential of Christian sacred symbolism. Considered symbolic component in terms of language discourse of religion that structured in a conceptual hierarchy agreed text construction, particularly in intertextual and communication model reflecting qualification and axiological sphere of religious and sacred knowledge and artistic interpretation of reality. Analyzed separate groups of Christian sacred symbols, including the Holy Spirit, water and space, which are included in the overall picture of Christian symbolism as a system of established concepts. Examined the continuity of the Christian symbolism of the ancient Greek and Hebrew traditions at the level of the inner form and conceptual content. The author highlights and compares the understanding of symbolism in Catholicism, Orthodoxy and Protestantism. Revealed the features of the original code of Ukrainian Christian symbolism, which was formed on the basis of a unique synthesis of pagan Slavic, Scandinavian, mythological, biblical, Byzantine, Western cultural and religious codes of meaning and formative expressions, as reflected in artistic, folk-consumer and academically philosophical areas.
