Soroka I. Social Perception of the Other in polycultural society.

Object: the social perception as a sociocultural phenomenon. Aim: to develop a sociological concept of social perception of the Other in a polycultural society. Methods of research: abstraction, generalization, analysis, synthesis, explanation, classification; massive poll, statistical analysis, the traditional text analysis, thematic analysis of works of art. Theoretical and practical results: the sociological concept of social perception, the conceptual apparatus for the study of the social perception of others in a multicultural society are developed, which opens up the possibility of preventing the naturalization enemy perception of individuals and culturally distinct communities. Novelty: social perception is conceptualized as a sociocultural phenomenon, the concept of "socio-cultural nomenclature of the Other" is introduced, the sociocultural interpretation of polycultural society is argued. Degree of implementation: the main results of the research are applied in educational process in sociological department of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv national university in courses on sociology of culture and sociological theories of society.
