Essay

The dissertation studies the development of the theories of economic equilib-rium and their classification. It describes the mechanism of the banking system's in-fluence on the economic equilibrium and its basic elements. It analyzes the influence of the banking system's subjects on the equilibrium of banks, the money market, the balance of payments and the microeconomic equilibrium. In the context of formation of the bank equilibrium the methodical approaches of improving the transfer pricing have been analyzed. The dissertation studies scien-tific approaches in researching the money market equilibrium and demonstrates the expediency of its provision through the use of the monetary rules conception. It de-velops methodological approach to the formation of explicit monetary rules for the Ukrainian economy. In the context of research of macroeconomic equilibrium, economic cycles in Ukraine and some other countries of Eastern Europe have been determined. Also the paper studies the experience of central banks in the use of countercyclical monetary policies. It substantiates the necessity and determines the directions for the use of more effective countercyclical monetary policy by the National Bank of Ukraine. Methodological approach to the complex assessment of the balance of pay-ments equilibrium has been developed. The dissertation shows the expediency of cal-culating the index of financially effective exchange rate, which can be used for de-termining and analyzing stable connections between the dynamics of real interest rates and the financial account of the balance of payments.
