Barchuk V. The Category of Temporality in Modern Ukrainian Literary Language

The thesis is devoted to grammar actual problems - the categories of temporality in modern Ukrainian literary language. At first in Ukrainian linguistics all features of temporal semantics are found out as well as their category status. Both the invariant meaning of category of temporality and its systematic and structural order of priorities are set. The category of temporality appears as above category, and its constitutives are categories of interval, tense, taxis. On the bases of proposed conception the contents of grammar temporal semantics are motivated - its duration reflects the human understanding about ontological time, and quantitative and qualitative changes based on it. Continuality determines the temporal features of linearity, borders and location of duration count, which receive their special determination. The immanent features of temporal categories are put in the bases of typological meaning of interval, tense, taxis.
