Essay

The author has made prospective of surgical treatment in 520 patients with atherosclerotic leisure of abdominal aorta, iliac arteries and lower extremities' arteries. Differential approach towards type of vascular reconstructive surgery depending on age, central and peripheral hemodynamic state and atherosclerosis type has been worked out for the first time. It was found that the best choice for patients with segmental occlusion is bypass in aortic-femoral or femoral-popliteal segment, whilst less traumatic surgery is preferable in patients with common forms of atherosclerosis. The author stated that patients with multiple atherosclerotic leisure, involving coronary, carotid and lower extremities' arteries need separate stages of surgery or less invasive stenting, where possible. Early and late results of treatment were improved by using worked out complex medication according to hemodynamic, lipid metabolism, endothelial dysfunction and co morbidities. The use of these treatment methods in patients with long-term complications reduces surgery trauma and improves results
