Degree thesis is dedicated to studying the verbally-suggestive potential of the sacral texts of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - and precisely the Ukrainian version of the prayers. The features of modern cultural situation in Ukraine demonstrate a growth of the interest in the phenomenon of the linguistic programming of personality. In this aspect the prayers could be considered as favorable object for the process of language research. That's why the signs of programming character were put into basis of linguistic analysis of considerable arrays of prayers texts. As the unit of informative influence have been distinguished semantic associates of different levels of organization of prayer text. The author's method of revelation of semantic resonance effects has been used. The main mechanisms of verbally-suggestive influence of prosodic, phonetic, lexical and semantic, semantic and syntactic, text levels as well as discourse level have been defined in prayers, what is more their potential perlocutive effects have been described. In addition, the specific of emotive correlation of prayer texts and its role have been described in the processes of verbally-suggestive influence. It has been stated that the phenomenon of harmonizing effect of the prayer corresponds to the request of psyche-ecological influence. The research has demonstrated, that the prayer's mechanisms of verbally-suggestive influence might be adapted up to the other suggestive discourses. The separate group in research materials constitutes certainly forms of verbal activity, which are produced by discorded emotional states. The author distinguished the pathogenic verbal activity, as the form of aggression, and protective verbal formulas with contrasuggestion as well.
