Kirilenko O. The Transformations of Institute of Sports in Ukrainian society

The conception of transformation of social relationships in sport as well as the institutionalizing of new sport practices in post-socialist Ukrainian society is developed and presented in the dissertation. It is defined the topical sociological research of development of sport under its liberalization and globalization. The complex analysis of appearances, preconditions and factors of the contemporary changes in a structure and functions of sport and the corresponding social relations is carried out. It is argued a finding concerning the increasing impact of the international sport on development of the national sports that sparks the formation of a unique glocal sport system. The basic institutional mechanisms of social inclusion into sport practices (like physical training, sport socialization of children and the youth, sport carrier, sport activities and passive forms of sport consumption) are defined and analysed. The special attention is paid to analysis of disfunctions in the institute of sport as an imbalance and contradictions in its development. The institutional conflict between professional sports and wellness is defined as the most essential disfunction. The research gives arguments of approach to development of a new model of institutional design of sport, which can provide more social efficacy of sport and can strength its health- recreational segment.
