This thesis studies the evolution of the complex methodological foundations of the institutionalism paradigm on the basis of the achievements of modern philosophy and methodology of economics. A new analytical approach was implemented. It consists in discovering generally, the paradigm of the methodological integrity of institutional economic theory and the methodological differentiation characteristics of its basic research programs - Original Institutional Economics and New Institutional Economics. The research considered the basic stages of formation and development of institutionalism paradigm, ideological and theoretical sources, the genesis and evolution of the methodological principles of Original Institutional Economics, conceptual and methodological foundations and structural development of the New Institutional Economics. The methodological origins of domestic proto-institutional economic theory, and the synchronization of institutionally oriented research genesis in domestic and global economic science were established. The analysis of the formation of the institutional-evolutionary methodological approach is held to reveal patterns of economic development by the Original and the New Institutional Economics. The development of the conceptual and methodological foundations of the theory of institutional change were disclosed. A complex interaction of formal and informal institutions, the role of economic mentality as a variance factor for institutional change were revealed. The scientific and practical importance of theoretical and methodological foundations of the institutionalism paradigm was grounded for the study of institutional transformation in the economy.
