The thesis is the first comprehensive study of ethno-cultural literary artistic models Ukrainian-Polish borderland, as part of the Polish literary process of the twentieth century. The issue of work focuses on highlighting polysemy ethnocultural model borderlands, which reflects the complex processes of cultural interference liminal space, which are particularly important in light of recent postcolonial studies and contemporary discourse of borderlands. The comprehensive analysis of the literature macrotext polish-ukrainian borderlands of the XX century ethnocultural models of creativity J. Iwaszkiewicz, L. Buczkowski, R. Wernik, W. Odojewski, A. Based on the analysis of works of writers from various polish-ukrainian border zone could set features interchange and ethnocultural communicative models of the universe of literature of borderlands analyze the specific axiological connotations and artistic and esthetic meaningfulness texts of liminal space, define esthetic inspirations and biographical transformation in the works of Polish writers of borderlands, to establish particular forms of collective consciousness, historical memory in the context of the constitutive elements of nostalgic discourse and to identify characteristics figurative presentations ethnic space and principles of antinomies "Another - Stranger". Research of polish literature of borderlands at the level of artistic ethnocultural models explain phenomena hypertext, deepens the scientific content and timespace an analysis of the phenomenon of the polish-ukrainian borderlands, expanding terminology of theory and history literature, semiotics, cultural and social anthropology. Research enrich theoretical knowledge about structuring, objectivity and integrity imaginative presentations in polish literature in the twentieth century, the original system segment which is the literature of polish-ukrainian borderlands. Geopolitical changes in the twentieth century proved to be a period of artistic reinterpretations and fundamental understanding of content and essence of literature polish-ukrainian borderlands. Interwar period of twenty years was the creation of new ideological and semantic levels, segments and components ethnocultural borderlands model, which came in different semantic and axiological incorporation. While the polish vision of borderlands as "border under threat", and Polishmen, as defenders of the Christian faith and Mediterranean civilization on the one hand, reinforced the idea polish centrism and cultural "appropriation" border spaces, and on the other - included eastern borderlands in geopolitical and cultural space of Europe.
