The Thesis deals with the analysis of the creative works by the writers of the Ziewonia group, in particular with their folklore-mythological and historical basis. The scientific approaches of Ukrainian and Polish researchers to Polish literature of Galicia of the first half of the XIX century have been systematized; the patterns of scientific thought development in the context of discussions about the problem of Slavophilism in literature have been revealed.
