Bondarchuk O. Memoiristics of T. Bobrovskyi: Problematic Issues, Genology, Narrative Strategies.

The thesis is dedicated to the study of the main tendencies of the literary process development, narrative intentions and genre features of the memoiristic heritage of T. Bobrovskyi, namely “Memoirs of My Life. On the Affairs and People of My Time”, “Memoirs of My Life. Mature Age Memoirs”, “Letters to Conrad” and other memoir texts. The theoretical aspects analysis of the creative legacy of T. Bobrovskyi in the diachrony and synchrony of literary discourse suggests that the two volume “Memoirs ... ” has become the object of interest of many famous critics. Yu. Dunin-Karvitskyi, Ye. Ivanovskyi, R. Marshytskyi, V. Pshyborovskyi, F. Ravita-Gavronskyi, M. Rolle introduced the reception of the work of the memoirist in the literary criticism of that time, which hadrather subjective character. The reviewers noted that memoirs was characterized by thesignificant social problems, the author's attraction to detailing the presentation, almost complete lack of extensive descriptions, porters and landscapes. I. Franko, for the first time in the Ukrainian scientific discourse, conducted a literary analysis of the work of the Polish nobleman. Scientific interests of V. Yershovincludes not only the biography and socio-political activities of Bobrovskyi, but also an artistic analysis of the text and stylistic features. V. Kolesnik and M. Kostritsia focus on the ethnographic aspect of the work of the memoirist. The comprehensiveanalysis of the historical-literary structure of the problems of memoirs texts by T. Bobrovskyi suggests that the problems of the first volume have a clear socio-historical orientation. The author’s selection of facts, memoirs and documents led to gradation of the value of the event. Therefore, an important historical issue is always disclosed through the social and everyday context in the memoirs. “Memoirs of My Life. Mature Age Memoirs” reflects the positivist orientations of the author. The memoirist, often sacrificing imagery and artistic presentation, transforms “Memoirs ... ” into a complex structure of an era with certain features of a political treatise. A profound analysis of the era pushes the artist to the conclusion that the work should become a kind of adviser to the harmonious progress of the socio-political life of the Right-bank Ukraine.
