The evaluation of invective as a linguistic term and analyzed its criteria as a speech genre? which serves as insult, national specificity of invective. Focuses on linguistic and psychological aspects of insult in communicative interaction, highlights invective characteristics in the Ukrainian language, describes it as a means of suggestive influence and social-cultural phenomen . The research also reveals its manifestation in the youth subculture and gender discrimination verbal communication. The work establishes its communicative-pragmatic status, realized through its functions and scope of use in different texts.
