The thesis is devoted to the complex business law study of theoretical issues pertaining to investment activity regulation, which aims at solving the problem of creating a favorable legal environment for investment by providing, taking public interest into account, free movement of capital and guaranteeing (protection of) investments, as well as cost-effectiveness and harmonization of national and international regulations. Theoretical background and regulatory implications of the major concepts of investment law treatment are determined. The specific features of investment law as a sub-branch of Ukrainian business law are defined. The objective reasons for state regulation of investment activities, the concept and models of state investment policy are investigated. The concept and features inherent in an investment contract as a means of self-regulation of investment activity are analyzed. Characteristic features of the international legal regulation of that activity are defined. The issues of legal regimes in investment sphere, state support of investment activity, takings of investment, ensuring the stability of the legal environment for investment and settlement of investment disputes between foreign investors and the state are elaborated on.
