Ivashko Y. The base of the Art-Nouveau style architecture formation in Ukraine (the end of 19-th-the beginning of 20-th centures).

The aim of the study is to analyze the base of formation process of Art-Nouveau style in the architecture of Ukraine. This aim is directly connected with the problems of the restoration, preservation and renovation of Art-Nouveau style buildings according to the modern society needs. The object of investigation is the architecture of Art-Nouveau style. The subject of investigation is the base of the Art-Nouveau style formation in the European streams and tendencies. Methods of investigation are – the methods of comparative and systematic-structural analyze. The information background of the research is the historiographic, iconographic and script sources and also the materials of Art-Nouveau style buildings’ practical measurements. The scientific novelty of the thesis lies in the following: for the first time were established and substantiated the bases, characteristic signs and regional particularities of Art-Nouveau style formation in the architecture of Ukraine; were determined the peculiarities of Art-Nouveau style on the city-planning, buildings’ and elements’ levels: in this time the building is considered as a whole system unity that is distinguished with its peculiar utility and morphologic properties; were formulated the semantic properties of Art-Nouveau style buildings architecture in Ukraine and proved that the main transmitters of the Art-Nouveau style in Ukraine were the elements of buildings’ facades, interiors and small architectural forms.7452
