Essay

The thesis is devoted to studying of features of psychologists' training in universities to work with maladjusted youth. A conceptual model of youth adaptation to social and cultural environment was substantiated from theoretical and methodological point of view; the model is a guideline for practical psychologists for understanding of psychological mechanisms of juvenile deviant behavior. A procedural model for psychologists' training to work with socially maladjusted youth was developed that consists of the main system modules: theoretical, educational, research, technological; of the types of psychological barriers; of the components: cognitive, motivational, personality-reflective, operational; of personal and professional competence. There were discussed types of students' psychological barriers that do not allow them to choose this kind of work; they are associated with high impact of such personal barriers as personal experience of stressful situations and disposition to professional burnout as well as insufficient knowledge, skills and techniques for working with socially maladjusted youth. Psychological and educational techniques were proposed that are focused on development of personal, social, psychological and activity competency of students-psychologists to work with socially maladjusted youth.
