Object: professional training of talented students of music majors in higher education; goal is to implement the scientific rationale and conceptual framework, the model of professional training of talented students of musical specialties of higher educational institutions; Methods: theoretical, empirical, mathematical statistics; novelty: the first developed and theoretical and methodological foundations for training talented students of music majors in higher education based on the methodological principles of natural and social cohesion; general, special and individual, integrity principle (holism); philosophical category opportunities and reality; general (synergistic, humanistic, systemic, activity) and specific research (hermeneutic, fasylitatsiynyy, muzykoznavskyy, axiological and acmeological) approaches; the essence of musical talent of students and specified content of structural components (focus on the creative musical activity, musical, intellectual and creative abilities, emotional and volitional); theoretically grounded and interpreted basic concept of training talented students of music majors in higher education; developed and experimentally tested model of professional training of talented students of music majors in higher education, which includes interrelated components (motivational and goal-oriented, procedural, acmeological) stages (preparation, training and learning, performance and research, professional and creative) forms (lectures, seminars and workshops, individual, individual and group, workshops, self-study, competitions, festivals, classes with elements of training, research work, musical and educational events), methods of resolving problematic situations that teach interpret a piece of music, methods of personal development (training with elements of psycho-physiological, acmeological training and communication training), the methods of professional development (training sessions with elements of musical improvisation as a process of creation and performance of music without preparation, playing by ear, transposition), providing professional training of talented students in the context of musical talent; criteria, indicators and levels of musical talent , willingness and individual style of musical activities; found historical and pedagogical stages of development of the national training system musically gifted individuals: preparatory, search-oriented, reformist-organizational, national and decisive. Specifies the structure of musical talent as a theoretical basis for improving the efficiency of training in higher education, biological and socio-educational factors of gifted and determined performance components, signs of expression. Improved essence of the concepts of "musical talent", "professional training of talented students of music majors", "commitment to creative music activities", "individual style music career students", "musical ability", "musicality". Were further developed theoretical propositions for improving the content, forms and methods of training musically talented students in higher education.
