Dissertation for the degree of Doctor Geological Sciences, specialty 21.06.01 - "Environmental Safety". State Institution "Institute of Environmental Geochemistry, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine", Kiev, 2014. Actual scientific and practical problem of the influence of closing mines on the ecological state of the geological environment were solved. A scientific concept of ecological safety in coal-mining regions was developed, which is based on methodological principles, methodical technique and technical solutions. They are applied to the position managed control of geological processes - geodynamic, hydrogeological, hydrochemical and others. On the basis of studies of these processes in the Donbass solved technological, technical and economic problems of ecological safety of the current state of the coal industry, and also hydrogeological and geomechanical factors of ecological safety within the natural and technogenic geosystems of the coal regions. A variety of factors influence the coal mines on the environment were established, among them - the migration of highly mineralized mine waters, degassing of coal enclosing rocks, geodynamic motions in rock mass and other, they are caused to the endogenous, exogenous technological processes. Methodological approach to monetization negative effects of coal mining on the geological environment was developed, it is based on a evaluation algorithm using the index and matrix methods, modeling, mapping, etc. The new approach to the management of the system of ecological safety in coal-mining regions was formulated. Keywords: geological environment, coal mine, natural and technogeneous geosystem, hydraulic head, mine water, salinity, filtration, geomechanical processes, fracture, barerny pillar, environmental risk.
