The mechanisms of formation, patterns and trends of socio-historical memory of modern Ukraine are identified. The concept of social-historical memory is conceptualized and given ground of expediency of its use in sociological research. The experience of exploring the social - historical memory in classical susprisingly opinion is summarized. The socialpsychological interpretation and functional analysis of social-historical memory are given. Theoretical interpretation of retelling that understands as a form of save and mechanism of transmission of social - historical memory is given in the conceptual scopes of sociology of memory.
