Essay

The thesis ascertains the socio-legal nature and meaning of "differentiation" and "individualization" and it is defined its value for the theory and penal activities on the basis of issues analysis related to implementation of the principle of differentiation and individualization of execution of punishment in Ukraine, as well as its historical genesis in the legislation. In order to improve the legal mechanism of aforementioned issues and improving of penal practice efficacy it was worked out in the thesis the scientifically based measures aimed at reforming of the penal principles of this type of activity.
