Essay

The thesis deals with the theoretical model and development strategy of senior pupils' critical thinking in History teaching. There is the main theoretical postulate that the critical thinking is independent, reflective, purposeful, proved, controllable, self-organizing, that is realized by the person. The most essential feature of the strategy is senior pupils' involving into the problem-solving activity with the use the problem teaching methods and interactive forms, which provide to the scientific dialogue and the cognitive activity reflection. Components of strategy include those of purpose, content, organizational, resultative. The purpose component lies in mastering the general methodology principles, strategies and procedures for critical thinking. The content component contains the programme material, given as a system of problem tasks (educational supplies for pupils). The organizational component provides the interaction of teachers and pupils, which is reflected in methodical manuals for teachers. The resultative component marks the shifts achieved corresponding to the set goal.
