Aim: realization of the nature, genuineness, interpretation strategies of Shevchenko's poetical genius. Methods: cultural-historical, biographical, hermeneutical, analytical-psychological, structural. Scientific novelty: thesis is the first in the literary science a comprehensive study of the phenomenon of Taras Shevchenko's genius and is performed against a broad philosophical, cultural and artistic background; the basic current strategies in assessing the personality and oeuvre of the poet and artist namely are described.
