The object of the study is the market power in modern economies. The goal of the thesis is a scientific grounding of the nature of market power and its role in the process of economies' transforming, as well as the elaboration of theoretical base and practical recommendation to balance its effects onto the ways and dynamics of economies' transformation. Methods of research: scientific abstraction, induction, deduction, dialectic, analytical grouping, as well as graphical, statistical, correlation and index analysis. Theoretical and practical results: growing impact of market power onto the way of the economy's organizing while its transforming is found. Novelty: the relational nature of market power is determined; the main channels of market power expansion over the economic system are marked out; the distorting impact of market power onto the innovation process, as well as its ability to institutionalize an economic system and to reduce its fundamental uncertainty are proved. The results have been implemented. The area of application is public authorities and universities.
