Essay

The present monograph is a result of the author's in-depth exploration of the fundamental problems regarding teacher training in Poland, including the psychological and social dimensions of the teaching profession and teachers' professional competence. The author intended to write a book discussing the most important theoretical and practical problems connected with modern teacher training, illustrated with Poland's experiences. What is presented in the book includes the following: complex issues concerning the professional training of teachers in Poland in the context of changes resulting from Poland's membership in the European Union (since 2004); the author's project of a modern teaching universal competence model; a set of teacher training recommendations for Ukraine.
