Essay

The intensification of the epidemic process of measles, rubella, mumps, diphtheria and pertussis in a period of social, economic and political crisis in Ukraine (1985-1998) was explained. In modern conditions, droplet infections are characterized by unequal distribution and there is a tendency of decreasing morbidity. A comparison of the main characteristics of epidemiological surveillance and socio-hygienic monitoring allowed us to develop a method of assessment of the epidemiological situation, the method of forecasting the level of infectious diseases and to construct a mathematical model of intensification of the epidemic process of droplet infections in the conditions of the living environment.
