By clinical-functional examination of 96 patients with complex maxillofacial pathology of various origins in age from 30 to 86 years identified a significant need in prosthetics among operated patients - 70,5%. Basic errors and complications in previously implanted prosthetics (or you can also write old prosthetics): facial asymmetry was exhibited by 69, 44 %; contractures of cheek chewing muscles - 48,38 %; diplopia -58,06 %; deterioration of oral health - 38,40 %; maceration and damage to the mucous membrane of prosthetic area - 45,09 %; painful application and removal of balance prosthesis - 37,25 %; elimination and destruction of the abutment teeth or dental implants - 27,45 %; developed and proposed a new research area of orthopedic rehabilitation based on the biomechanical justification of new manufacturing maxillofacial equipment with intellectual property, the effectiveness of which is confirmed by restoring the balance of chewing function and reduced performance of masticatory muscles during chewing on 20,82% (p<0.05) with decrease in muscle activity and the increase of the coefficient K is 1.33 the average for the group. On the basis of clinical and biomechanical studies substantiated, reviewed, new effective methods of permanent rehabilitation of patients with complex maxillofacial pathology were put into practical health care when using "intellectually active" and "intellectually passive equipment, as well as methods of prevention of complications of orthopedic treatment.
