For the first time in literary criticism on the basic of great amount of factual material genre and stylistic modifications of the Ukrainian versified XXth century satire and humour are analyzed and theoretical problems of genre typology of native poetic humour and the main trends of its development are highlightened.Notwithstanding the revealing of the role and place of Ukrainian satire and humour in Ukrainian literature of the XXth century, the author of the thesis points, that the comprehension of the nature of native humorous and satirical poetry has its own prospects.
