Essay

The dissertation is devoted to important current topic in the field of preventive medicine, namely: specific biological action of a methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) as well as prevention and early detection of MTBE harmful impact on human health using the molecular genetic biomarkers. It was determined that MTBE exerts embryotoxic, teratogenic, gonadotox-ic and other effects on a living organism. The following molecular genetic mechanisms are underlying the MTBE damaging effect: changes in gene expression levels of key circadian factors and protein kinases. The package of scientifically valid measures was developed and introduced into the health care practice in order to reduce the levels of hazardous chemicals in the environment, and to prevent their harmful effect on workers and the general population.
