The dissertation provides an analysis of the EU as international actor on the basis of the concept of actorness that allows to go beyond the traditional dichotomy "state - international organization". The study is based on interpretation models and theoretical conclusions of neoliberal and constructivist approaches in international politics. The political actorness of the EU is studied within proposed analytical framework of harmonized system of interacting variables in domestic and international level in the context of the changes introduced by the Lisbon Treaty.
