Essay

The purpose: Тheoretical rationale of morphogenesis regularities in isolated cell and tissue culture in vitro, development of the methods of accelerated creation of new competitive high adaptive genotypes of vegetable crops and their identification by molecular genetic methods. The object: cell and DNA-technologies in breeding and seed farming of vegetable crops. The newness: it was solved a scientific problem of intensification of breeding process and propagation of high competitive vegetable crops genotypes by the new breeding technology using biotechnologies that differs from the previously known results of research by a systemic approach. For the first time in Ukraine there has been the specification of optimal conditions for clonal micropropagation, callusogenesis and morphogenesis of tomato, bell pepper, eggplant, garlic, shallot, bulb onion, yacon, carrot, cucumber, pumpkin, watermelon. It was established modern experimental approach to preserving the gene pool of vegetable crops ex situ with the use of biotechnology methods. There have been developed the ways of using in vitro isolated tissue methods for overcoming the taxonomic incompatibility barriers that arise in the interspecies hybridization of tomato, eggplant, pumpkin, for screening as well as creating the source of fungi resilience of the genus Fusarium and Alternaria, for propagation of tetraploid watermelon forms and for creation of tomato and carrot doubled haploids. The results: 5 complex-valued lines, 45 cell lines that are included to breeding programs were created. On the basis of the developed methodological approaches new cultivars of tomato Seven, Gurman and Budda were created. Their production profitability is respectively 53, 84 and 85%. The profitability of Lira cultivar cultivation is 157%. The developed and improved methodological approaches are described in 2 monographs and 9 manuals, 2 state standards of Ukraine. 9 patents for utility model and 1 patent for invention have been got. The developed methodological approaches are used in the theoretical studies, breeding practice and educational process in research and high educational institutions. The area of implementation: scientific institutions of NAAS of Ukraine, high educational establishments, agricultural companies of all patterns of ownership of Ukrainian agro-industrial complex.
