Essay

The paper is dedicated to the research of linguistic stereotypization of sensory perception, the development of which is recorded in the lexicographical practices: Dictionary of the Ukrainian language of the XVI - the first half of the XVII century, Borys Hrinchenko's Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language (ХІХ century), Dictionary of the Ukrainian language: in 11 volumes (ХХ century) and updated in a modern discourse. The realized in the thesis complex approach to the consideration of linguistic stereotypes, following on from the sensory reactions, is based on integrated theoretical background and methodological principles of cognitive linguistics and cultural linguistics, planned for a new vision of linguistic research subject, where issues of linguistic consciousness come to the fore. The used in the thesis methods and tools of analysis, thus providing diachronic study of linguistic ethnocultural sensory stereotypes, made it possible to define primary development trends of the lingual development of perceptual stereotypes in the certain historical era and to monitor the features of their linguistic objectivation during different cultural and historical periods of the Ukrainian language. This allows for the conclusion that in the linguistic view of the world of the Ukrainians, the stereotypes of sensory perception, integrating linguistic and sensory experience of individual, collective and society, demonstrate the results of reality processing by consciousness and language, which are the reflexion of linguocultural reasonable information, formed during all the history of the Ukrainian ethnic group.
