Essay

From the standpoint of biopsychosocial and interdisciplinary approaches and based on the evidentiary medicine, the research in the thesis gives theoretical justification and renders a new solution for the pressing scientific problem of development and practical application of a model of health and social care for the young people with adjustment disorders using psychoactive substances (PAS).The conducted clinical and epidemiological survey of prevalence, structure of adaptation and adjustment disorders, PAS use prevalence and behavior of the young people, first year students of higher education institutions, showed the following results. 19.5% of students have disorders of adaptation, including 88.6% using PAS (72.0% of girls and 28.0% of boys). 8.2% of respondents are found to have the adjustment disorders, including 83.0% thereof using PAS (56.2% of girls and 43.8% of boys). Using PAS was ascertained to be true for 80.9% of the student-age young people, including 59.5% of girls, 21.4% of boys, and it is characterized by the multi-substance type (a combination of drinks of low alcohol content and smoking), predominance in terms of a safe style of using PAS as a subclinical form of the addictive condition. Determination of the markers of risk, as well as predictors of formation of disorders of adaptation and adjustment disorders among the examined cohort, established the following. Actual interrelation is proved between psychosocial factors, degree of disadaptation, intensity of associated psychopathological radicals, PAS using and psychoemotional definition of the students' personality. A model has been developed based upon this survey for individual forecasting of development of adjustment disorders and addictive behaviour among youth, with impact analysis and assessment both of the most significant factor attributes, and a unique combination thereof, which are the predictors of formation of the adjustment disorders and influence over the involvement into using PAS. A system of psycho-prevention of psycho-educational orientation for the young people with adaptation and adjustment disorders using PAS has been given scientific credence, developed and implemented.
