Petrenko D. Transversal anthropology of media

The object of research is the correlation of man and media in the context of philosophical anthropology. The aim of the study is to substantiate the transversal anthropology of media as a new trend in philosophical anthropology, within which human-medial interactions will be conceived in the context of the reproduction of power / knowledge strategies and as a condition for the invention of experimental anthropological practices. The methods of investigation are the poststructuralism, discourse analysis, deconstruction, dialectical method. The theoretical results and their novelty transversal anthropology of media as an innovative trend in modern philosophy is an answer to the challenge of antianthropological interpretations of structuralist and poststructuralist philosophy, and the philosophers of a "nonhuman turn", as well; philosophical anthropology within this trend finds a new basis of life after the postmodern crisis; autonomist anthropology, closely connected with the strategies of power/knowledge, creating an integral conceptual image of the human person and confirming it as something taken for granted, put the conceptual image of the human person into the rigid conceptual framework; the media here become both an instrument of reproduction of the strategies of power/knowledge, always based on some given fixational understanding of the human person and his limitations, and the actualisator of transversing, which transforming the human person into the frontier; the human person becomes similar to the frontier territory without clear marking which is open for different practices of anthropological experimenting; transversal anthropology of the media demonstrates, foremost, the potential of audiovisual media images to perform the acts of shifting and reinvention of the anthropological limit. The practical value deals with the fact that the results obtained make it possible to more thoroughly comprehend the latest trends in philosophical anthropology with the help of the concept of a transversal in mediaculture. The conclusions and theoretical positions of the thesis are determined by the possibility of their practical application in solving the actual problems of the present, which are related to the need to overcome the discourses of power, the exclusion and problematicness of the universal and, at the same time, discrimination and symbolic violence in modern society. The development of problems posed in the thesis can help to establish a pluralistic attitude, to promote awareness of the possibility of diverse manifestations of culture and, thus, to influence the further democratization of Ukrainian society.
