The dissertation is the first Ukrainian historical and legal research, where the author has reconstructed the mechanism of modernization of legal status of social classes of the Russian Empire in the context of relations of lobbying during the second half of the XIX – beginning of the XX centuries and has determined the possibilities of using proper historical and legal experience in the process of reforming Ukrainian law system with providing propositions about the improvement of current legislation.
