Mylytsya K. Surgical treatment of patients with metabolic syndrome and obesity (clinical and experimental study)

The dissertation is dedicated to the problem of surgical treatment of patients with metabolic syndrome (MS) and obesity (O). The results of clinical and experimental, morphological studies allowed to pathogenethically substantiate the new approaches to the solution of this problem, to develop and enhance the methods of surgical intervention and perioperative rehabilitation and increase their effectiveness. The technique of laparoscopic gastric plication is implemented, its metabolic and clinical effects are defined, as well as the possibility and effectiveness of adopting tis practice as the basic, preparatory and correction stage in treating patients with MS and O. The paper presents the new modification of gastricplicationfor the correction of previously performed insufficient resection of the stomach wall; new modifications of the SADI and BPD-DS operations, in which the phase of longitudinal resection of the stomach is replaced by plication (SADI-P and BPD-DS-P).
