Essay

The thesis is the first comprehensive study of communicative structure and pragmatics of dramatic discourse in Ukrainian linguistics. Thanks to the structural organization and peculiarities of implementation of discursive categories, as well as increased discursiveness of dramatic texts, the relevance of analysis of dramatic discourse as independent has been proved in the thesis. In dramatic work the author's intension determines the communicative activity of characters, integrating it into a coherent text for further perception by readers. In this case, dramatic discourse is modeled by the presence of internal and external communication. The former is among characters, the latter is between author and reader. The basis of internal communication is a dramatic dialogue that implements author's idea and constructs a set of smaller communicative units forming a certain hierarchical chain (a communicative event - a communicative module - speech process - speech act).
