Essay

The dissertation presents theoretical generalization and a new approach to solving the actual problem, consisting in a holistic systemic rationale for the multicultural foundations for the development of the theory and practice of education, training specialists in educational institutions in Canada and the USA, determining ways to use positive Canadian and American experience in training specialists in the Ukrainian education system in modern conditions. Socio-historical preconditions and tendencies of the development of Canadian and American multicultural education are characterized, the analysis of the education system in the country at the present stage in the context of multiculturalism is made; the multicultural approach in vocational training of future specialists in higher educational institutions of Canada and the USA is revealed. It is noted that researchers attribute curriculum to the main characteristics of multicultural education, a curriculum that focuses on diversity and history, the philosophical justification for educational reforms, the variable content of the curriculum, the penetration of the ideas of multiculturalism into all spheres of educational activity.The goals, objectives and principles of the multicultural education of Canada and the USA have been defined in the light of the training of specialists in the educational institutions of Canada and the United States and Ukraine, and outlined the possibilities of using positive Canadian and American scientific and practical experience in training specialists in the spirit of multiculturalism. It is emphasized that the main tasks of multicultural education are the formation and development of specialists' understanding of the diversity of cultures in the world, the development of a positive attitude to cultural differences, the ability to use foreign languages as an instrument of integration into the culture of other peoples, the implementation of a dialogue of cultures within their country and modern civilizations peace, education of specialists in the spirit of peace, tolerance, humane interethnic communication.
