Essay

In the dissertation the concept of technology of intensive production of rabbit meat in the conditions of Precarpathian region is theoretically substantiated and developed. There were developed the projects of premises and equipment for keeping 720 heads of the main rabbit uteruses under conditions of intensive production, which will allow receiving 33600 heads of fatted young rabbits with a live weight of more than 900 centners per year. The system-technological research in the field of rabbit breeding with technology for intensive rabbit production using the available in Ukraine rabbit gene pool (local chinchilla, Flemish giant and White giant) has been conducted and the principles for forming a herd for intensive rabbit production have been elaborated. The distribution of the newly created population of rabbits into maternal and parental forms for their crossing as a process of industrial hybridization is proposed. The evaluation of rabbits productivity, in particular, reproductive qualities of the rabbit dams with different variants of the three-breeds combination, as well as fattening and slaughter rates, and fur productivity have been provided. There were developed a rabbit feeding system and recipes of complete granulated feed with the use of competitive feed ingredients: fodder yeast, wheat straw flour, wheat bran, dry corn berg and 4 % premix. The cost of feed per 1 centner of rabbit is getting cheaper by 11 %. The influence of the concentration of sulfur and cystine in the wool on the formation of postnatal indicators of young rabbits’ fur was determined, and the content of trace elements, the specific activity of radionuclides in different tissues of the rabbit body and the ways of their receipt were investigated. Using such approaches to the intensive production of rabbit, the net income per main rabbit dam grew by 483 UAH per year, which increased the profitability of rabbit production by 10 %.
