The thesis is devoted to the development of theoretical and methodological foundations of future economists’ organization of independent extracurricular self-study work on English, especially the theoretical and methodological foundations of economic speciality students’ independent extracurricular self-study work in business speaking and writing using multimedia electronic textbook. On the basis of a critical analysis of the scientific literature and the carried out survey among the specialists and the students of economic specialities in this thesis it has been defined the specific use of English in business communication and future economists’ organization of independent extracurricular self-study work in learning English; singled out Business Communication situations in which specialists in economics participate more, and the teaching aid. Levels of future economists’ autonomy and types of self-study work guidance depending on models of interaction between lecturers and students (partial autonomy, semiautonomy, relative autonomy) have been specified in the thesis. Conceptual grounds of the developed methodology considering future economists’ self-mastery extracurricular English-language competence in Business Speaking and Writing using multimedia electronic textbook have been done. In the research the leading approaches (system, competency based, reflective, personally-oriented and situational) to forming independent extracurricular Business English Competence in Speaking and Writing using multimedia electronic textbook have been defined and described. It is determined such stages of future economists’ extracurricular self-study Business English Spoken Interaction and Production and Business English Writing using multimedia electronic textbook as organizational, training and control ones. The requirements to the level (B 2.2) of Business English Spoken Interaction and Production and Business English Writing, linguasociocultural, learning and strategic competences of the students of economic specialities have been grounded. Both methodological potential and the expediency of using the multimedia electronic textbook in the process of professionally oriented English Speaking and Writing during the future economists’ independent extracurricular self-study work have been grounded in the research. The methodology of independent extracurricular self-study students of economic specialities on acquiring Business English Spoken Interaction and Production and Business English Writing using multimedia electronic textbook «Cool Businessman» has been worked out.7452
