The object of the research is the process of management of the sustainable development of railway transport enterprises. The research aims are to the development of a theoretical and methodological foundations and practical recommendations for effective economic and environmental management of the sustainable development of railway transport enterprises. The author used such methods as: expert estimations, method of analysis of hierarchies, system analysis, method of structural-dynamic modeling, method of "tree of goals", taxonomic methods, structural-dynamic analysis, entropy method, methods of correlation-regression analysis, grouping and systematization, analysis and synthesis , morphological analysis, graphic method. The theoretical value of the thesis refers to the study of the theoretical foundations of economic and environmental management of the sustainable development of railway transport enterprises. Scientific novelty of the results: for the first time there is developed the conceptual foundations of providing economic and environmental management as an instrument of sustainable development of railway transport enterprises; a complex of models for assessing the state of the system of economic and environmental management of the sustainable development of railway transport enterprises, the method of economic and environmental estimation of emissions volumes of polluting substances and greenhouse gases into atmospheric air from the rolling stock of Ukrainian railways, there is improved method of integrated assessment of the influence of railways activity on the environment on the principles of sustainable development, the classification of the conceptual principles of economic and environmental management of railway transport enterprises, the system of interconnections of external components (economic, social, environmental components) and internal environment (enterprises of railway transport), there are developed approaches to assessment of the problem of economic and environmental management of the sustainable development of railway transport enterprises, the system of economic and environmental management of sustainable development of the railway transport enterprises through the use of the «tree of goals» method, the system of goals and objectives of the economic and environmental management of railway transport enterprises in the field of protection and improvement of the environment, categorical and conceptual apparatus «economic and environmental management» as part of general management, the method integrated economic and environmental assessment of the influence of diesel and electromotor traction of rolling stock of railway transport enterprises as moving sources of pollution of the environment. The subject of research refers to development of theoretical, methodological and practical principles of economic and environmental management of the sustainable development of railway transport enterprises. Author’s recommendations are used during development economic and environmental management of the sustainable development of railway transport enterprises. The sphere for the use of author’s recommendations is revered to railway transport enterprises.
