The evolution of theoretical and practical approaches to the analysis of the constitutional mechanism of state power is studied. Models of the constitutional mechanism of state power, existing in the world, are analyzed. A comprehensive analysis of the main approaches to understanding of the legal nature of the constitutional mechanism of state power is made. The notion of the constitutional mechanism of state power is elaborated, and a comprehensive analysis of its principles is conducted. The essence, scopes and functional typology of the constitutional mechanism of state power are defined. The author’s definition of the structure of the constitutional mechanism of state power is given, its architectonics is elaborated.
