The dissertation is devoted to the solution of the scientific and applied problem – the substantiation of theoretical and methodological and practical principles of management of the sustainable development of the agri-food sphere (AFS) of the region in conditions of decentralization of power. It has been noted, that the imperative of sustainable development is one of the central directions of modern economic and multidisciplinary research. It wass shown, that the concept of sustainable development is the quintessence of world scientific thought. It has been noted, that sustainable development is a dialectical process that reflects the harmony of opposites: sustainability and dynamism, variability and stability.
