The thesis deals with the problem of future translators’ professional training to perform bilateral sight translation in scientific and technical domains. The requirement for highly skilled professionals who possessed skills and abilities of bilateral translation/interpreting has been growing due to the development of international relations, the emergence of new framework programs aimed at active international cooperation in the field of science and technology. There are such examples as «Sustainable Development Program 2016-2030», The European Union Framework Program «Horizon 2020», etc. It leads to an increase in the level of international cooperation between native and foreign scholars, an increase in the number of international conferences, forums, symposiums, etc., where bilateral translation/interpreting is used in the scientific and technical domains. However, the lack of a unified system of professional training for future translators/interpreters, which helps to implement the bilateral translation in general and the bilateral sigh translation (which is commonly used in the scientific and technical domains), in particular, reduces the effectiveness of future translators/interpreters training and the performance of their professional duties as well. Therefore, taking into account the requirements for international cooperation in the field of science and technology, the special attention is paid to the research of future translators’ professional training and the development of their professional competence in bilateral sigh translation in scientific and technical domains at a high level. The analysis of modern linguistic, psycholinguistic, translation and methodological studies deal with the development of future translators’ professional competence in bilateral scientific and technical translation/interpreting has shown that the latter is researched insufficiently. The general recommendations in the scientific literature are not based on special studies, and therefore do not take into account the peculiarities of the translation/interpreting implementation, the list of necessary skills and abilities, its role and place in the development of translators’ competence, and so on. The research conception substantiates the theoretical and methodological principles of the system of future translators’ training to perform the bilateral interpreting in scientific and technical domains. It contains of methodological, theoretical and methodic concepts. In the manuscript the system of future translators’ professional training has been developed. It has been theoretically substantiated and experimentally verified. Super- and subcompetences as the components of the professional competence of translator is considered. The influence of socio-philosophical, psycholinguistic, psycho-pedagogical, linguistic and methodical bases on the professional training of translators is investigated. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is as follows: for the first time the conceptual bases of future translators/interpreters’ professional training to perform bilateral sight translation in the scientific and technical domains were substantiated; the problem deals with the development of future translators’ professional competence in bilateral scientific and technical sight translation on the basis of competence, transdisciplinary, linguistic-communicative, informational-communicative and cognitive-activity approaches is analysed on the system level; the role and place of bilateral sight translation in the scientific and technical domains in the structure of the translators’ professional competence is determined and substantiated; the pedagogical conditions of the future translators/interpreters’ effective training are substantiated; the pedagogical system of the future translators/interpreters’ professional training to perform the sight translation in the scientific and technical domains has been developed and experimentally verified.
