. Designs for fundamentally new dual hydrostatоdynamic sliding bearings of liquid friction with several lubricating layers are developed, which significantly improve their static and dynamic characteristics. Mathematical models of hydrostatоdynamic bearings of the dual type are presented for the three designs of the considered bearings, in which the loading pattern and the flow regime of the working fluid are taken into account. An algorithm for the numerical solution of the obtained mathematical dependences is developed. Calculations and analysis of static and dynamic characteristics for three designs of hydrostatоdynamic bearings of a dual type were accomplished. A significant advantage of hydrostatоdynamic bearings of a dual type in comparison with conventional bush bearings as for static and dynamic characteristics is shown. The amplitude-frequency characteristics of the shaft on hydrostatodynamic bearings of the dual type for various values of geometric and operating parameters are given. The effect of axial eccentricity and taper angle in a radial-thrust dual type bearing on its static and dynamic characteristics was analyzed. A double resonance on the amplitude-frequency characteristics obtained for a radial dual type bearing with an elastic mounting of the working surfaces of the disk was detected. A comparative analysis of the diametrical dimensions of a dual type and conventional bush bearings providing the same bearing capacity was made. The possibility of applying the Newton-Raphson method for determining the pressures in the dual type bearing chambers was considered. In spite of the more cumbersome mathematical apparatus of this method, it is possible to obtain a gain in the number of iterations. The description of the experimental stand, the system of supply of working fluid, the complex of measuring equipment and the technique of experimental investigation of the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the shaft on hydrostatоdynamic bearings of a dual type are given. A comparative experimental analysis of the static and dynamic characteristics of a dual type hydrostatodynamic bearing and a conventional bush bearing was performed. A method for calculating hydrostatоdynamic bearings of a dual type is 46 represented, which takes into account the nature of the loading and the flow regime of the working fluid. The results of the thesis were used by the leading enterprise of Ukraine on designing turbines for atomic power stations PAT "Turboatom" and by enterprise for designing units of power plants PAT "FED".
