The dissertation is the first monographic paper since the beginning of the armed conflict in the East of Ukraine, where the system of measures of criminological influence on terrorism and its related phenomena has been comprehensively studied with the usage of modern methodology of legal research with the purpose of elimination of factors contributing to their reproduction and existence. As a result of the conducted research, the author has studied the phenomenon of terrorism within the system of criminal violence and has carried out the typology of manifestations of modern terrorism. The quantitative and qualitative indicators of terrorism in Ukraine in the context of relevant world and European tendencies have been analyzed. Criminological characteristic of a modern terrorist’s personality has been carried out. The general concept of determination of terrorism has been formulated and the system of factors of determination of terrorism has been defined. The mechanism of determination of a terrorist act has been analyzed. The concept of the mechanism of counteracting terrorism has been considered. Organizational and legal principles of counteracting terrorism have been researched. The range of subjects of counteracting terrorism has been defined and their criminological activity in this area has been estimated. The quality of coordination of actions of the subjects combating terrorism and the system of appropriate measures have been considered. General social, special and criminological measures of counteracting terrorism have been analyzed. The directions of improving the victimological measures of counteraction to terrorism have been determined.
