Essay

For the first time geography-center methodical educational system is theoretically grounded, its components are characteristic, geography-oriented theoretical and methodical principles of studying geography at the profile level are substantiated, prospects for improvement in the light of reformation processes in education are determined. On the basis of concretization and logical unity of philosophical and cultural, psychological and pedagogical factors, organizational, methodical aspects and pedagogical terms of studying geography of senior high school students in the context of the requirements for the new Ukrainian school are substantiated. The study theoretically developed and proposed a geography-center methodical teaching system, characterized its components, substantiated the geographic-oriented theoretical and methodological foundations of teaching geography at the profile level, determined and theoretically justified the methodical approaches and principles for selecting and designing the content of geography learning at the profile level. Positive tendencies for the development of geographic education in higher education are determined. The geography-center methodological system of training in the totality of its components is presented and substantiated. The author's training program was developed and the introduction of the elective course "Lean-logistics in geography" into the profile education process of the 11th grad students and the feasibility of the end-to-end study of certain topics (Globalization, Logistics etc.) was substantiated; regional educational geographic complex curriculum, manual, geographic maps, developing games, test models, teacher's guide was developed. The undertaken research allowed to verify experimentally and to prove the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed methodical approaches to geography study at the profile level, to conclude that the implementation of the methodical principles of students’ teaching in senior profile high school creates terms for competence-oriented education of senior students, according to their individual inquiries and potential opportunities.
