Essay

The results of the research of adverse trends, appearing in the middle and older adolescence period of personality development under the influence of destructive field of youth subcultures with negative direction, have been presented in the thesis. The essence of subculture as a social and psychological area of personality development and the reasons of its appearance has been analyzed; social and psychological factors of youth entering the subcultural space have been distinguished and described; the influence of youth subcultures on teenagers' development has been discussed; the main approaches to classification of youth subcultures trends and informal associations has been introduced; age peculiarities of mind development as predictors of youth subculture formation has been discovered; disposal factors of teenagers' joining informal associations has been analyzed; a psychological profile of subcultural trait has been presented. The problem of increasing level of adolescent aggressiveness and destructiveness as a result of group identification and accepting negative values of a definite subcultural space has been discussed. It has been discovered that modern teenagers are informed about main directions of youth subcultures movements, are able to differentiate subculture groups carriers by outward, behavioral, value and notional features and the majority of them stops at the stage of general information. About one third of teenagers deep in subcultural space. Under condition of subcultural identification destructive area of adolescent subculture becomes a negative factor of personality development and predetermines the increase of aggressiveness and the decrease of correspondence to the norms at both behavioral and self-conceptual levels. It has been proved that the teenagers' participation in youth communities with negative direction is the predictor of their psychological readiness formation to aggressive and destructive behavior, increasing number of irrational self-expressions, reduction of critical assessment of actions and intentions, destruction of social values and moral formation.
